What do you believe? - Our statement of beliefs is on our website, www.globaloutreach.org
Where do we serve? - We serve in over 35 countries, listed on our website.
What are our methods? - Our methods are as diverse as our missionaries. Everything we do must involve evangelism, discipleship and compassion for the needs of people.
Are you a part of any denomination? - We are not part of a denomination. We work will all evangelical Christians.
Teams How can I go on a team? - Start your own team or link up with a team already scheduled. You can download applications at website. Email contact is available online too.
What kind of expenses are involved in going on a team? - They vary depending on location. Airfare, per diem, application fee, and insurance are required before departing.
Who pays for the trip? - The individual team member is responsible for the costs of his trip.
Can I go where there is no Global missionary? - Global Outreach works through their missionaries. Special exceptions might be considered. Contact Home Office
Do I need an invitation to work on a team? - Team members assist missionaries with their work. The missionary will be “in the loop” regarding the team as a whole
How long do teams last? - From a few days to 90 days
What is the minimum number of people for a team? What is the maximum number of people for a team? - This number varies depending on mission site. The missionary on the field sets it. He knows what he needs and how many it will take.
Career Missionaries What does it take to be a missionary? - Only 3 requirements…a born-again believer, actively involved in a local church and clear call to missions
What is the process? - Fill out an application (available on-line), phone interview, check references, attend Missionary Orientation Training (MOT), provisional 1 year approval, raise support, leave for the field
How long does it normally take? - It varies from person to person, from 3 months to 3 years. We work with you to help with this process
Do you offer special training? How do I raise support? - We teach this in MOT. Your friends, family, business acquaintances and church members are your best options.
Do I get paid? - From the monies you raise, a salary will be set. We pay your salary from your account monthly. We handle all the withholdings.
Do you have missionaries to the United States? - We currently serve in foreign missions. Some are based in the U.S. but all ministry is outside of the U.S.
Can I serve with missionaries from other organizations? - Yes. Partnership is essential for missionaries. We also have seconded agreements with many organizations.
SAMS and Internships What is the process for going on a short-assignment trip? - Identical to career missions but you have a defined time of service
How long are SAMS or internships? Is special training required? Giving How can I give to Global or to a missionary? - You can give by check sent to Global Outreach, a fund withdrawal or you can give by credit card online. Make the check payable to Global Outreach with the name of the missionary you desire to give to on a piece of paper.
What do you mean by 100% goes to the missionary? - When you give a gift to a project or missionary, it goes in its entirety to where it is designated. No funds are withheld for any purpose, administratively or anything else. If $100 is given, they receive $100.
Will my gifts be tax-deductible? - Global Outreach is an IRS approved 501 c 3 non-profit organization. All gifts given are tax deductible unless they are for the purchase of an item.
Do you accept foreign currency? - We are able to receive foreign funds but there is a loss when funds are exchanged to US $.
Administration How is the administration funded? - The support team is funded by gifts the same as missionaries.
What does the administration do for the missionaries? - We provide a full-range of financial services. We also provide database and communication support. Pastoral care is also a key part of our ministry.
How does my gift get to the missionary? - We use wire transfers to send the money to the missionary’s individual account.
