Catherine Morris

I have been serving in Uganda for 4 years. Currently I am serving with Hope Empowers Ministry in Nabukalu, about 1 hour from Kampala. God has led me to 3 specific ministries which reach out to the vulnerable people who need to know about Jesus. First, I go into the slums of Kampala and talk with the street boys about Jesus. We also feed them a much-needed meal. Secondly, we have 8 boys that have been rescued from the slums and are living in a boys' home at Hope Empowers Ministry. I spend time with them on a regular basis every Saturday where we do art, watch movies or just do something fun. Finally, I go into the village of Saala which is one hour from my house by motorcycle. I have a Bible study with the Jajjas or grandparents. These women and men were lonely and separated from family and each other. But we gave them a reason to gather, have tea and socialize. That was the beginning. Then we started giving out Bibles and talking about Jesus!! That is when things grew into a real Bible study. This ministry fills my heart to overflowing!! I would love to include you in my newsletter and updates.

Jajjas for Jesus verse:
Luke 4:18-19
The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed, to proclaim the year of the Lord's favor.”
